Chesapeake and Ohio Canal
A scenic trail for a casual hike and views of abandon infrastructure. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal once serviced this area providing transportation of goods and supplies. It's main task was floating mined Coal from the Allegheny Mts to Georgetown, Md then out to the coast running parallel to the Potomac River. The canal started in Cumberland, Md and ran 185 miles to tide level seas in Georgetown, Md.
